Workshop on the Implementation Process of Pilot Law Offices for Improvement of Justice Sector Held

       The workshop on implementation process of pilot law offices cooperation between the Union Attorney General’s Office and USAID was held in the meeting hall of the Union Attorney General’s Office at 9:00 a.m. in this morning. The Attorney General of the Union attended the meeting and gave instructions.

       In this meeting, they discussed cooperation with USAID in Case Management for Improvement of Justice Sector according to the strategic plan of the Union Attorney General’s Office; conditions for carrying out justice effectively through good management; implementation of Case Management in Law Offices of the Pyin Oo Lwin District, Chan Aye Thar Zan Township and Mawlamyine Township as pilot Law Offices; expansion of Law Offices of the Mawlamyine District, Eastern Yangon District, Pathein District, Dawei District and Taungyi District as pilot Law Offices; performances of law officers in respect of Pretrial Interviews to aggrieved persons and witnesses in major crimes; observance and practice of the law officer’s ethic and fair trial standards to improve the performances of law officers; establishment of the better work plans for on-going processes by reviewing the weakness and advantage of pilot law offices’ plan.

       Daw Nu  Nu Yin, the Permanent Secretary, Daw Khin Cho Ohn, Director General and persons  responsible from the Union Attorney General’s  Office, and Mr. Robest C La Mont, the Chief of Rule of Law Body and persons responsible also attended this meeting.
